Chances of getting into UCLA, UCI, USD?

I'm out of state.
I have a 3.9 weighted gpa. and an 1800 SAT.
I have taken 10 AP courses and all other courses were honors (except for the required gym and art classes).
Volunteering
• Maryland Therapeutic Riding
• March of Dimes
• Happy Helpers for the Homeless
Clubs and Extracurricular
• DECA: Business program
• Horseback Riding
• Varsity Cross Country
• Track Team
Work Experience
• Architecture Internship

Awards
• AP Scholar: For reaching college-level achievements.
• Cross Country Most Improved: For "showing amazing improvement" and being the youngest on the team to go to states.
• Top Scholar Athlete: For obtaining a 4.68 GPA while participating in a sport.
• Minds in Motion: For achieving a high grade point average while participating in Interscholastic Athletics.

Also, other teachers that read my recommendations said they were very well written and spoke very highly of me. I plan to major in either biology or pre-dentisty/med (depending on what the school offers) and hopefully become an orthodontist.

What are my chances at getting into University of San Diego, UCLA, and UC Irvine? I know UCLA is definitely a reach, but I would still like to hear opinions.

Well your GPA and test scores are definitely not within average for UCLA, but i could see you having a shot at the other two.

My thread (chance please): <a href=“Chances for Vanderbilt, UNC, NYU, UF, and Duke? - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke-p1.html</a></p>

I think that UCLA is a reach
UCSD seems to be a match
UCI also seems pretty good
I think you will get into 1 of UCSD and UC Irvine
good luck, chance back

Just to remember UC’s only calculate GPA for 10-11 grade

Being out of state is your best chance at this point. USD is trying to be more of a national school. UCLA and UCI would like the tuition from an out-of-state person no matter what state you’re from. California has tons of athletic people, so unless it’s something a little unique, like rowing, it does not add as much (tons of kids doing cross country now here). You need to try and keep the GPA up (since a lot of it is weighted) and kick the SAT up by 100 points, and I think you’ll have reasonable chances. Maybe think about Whittier or Chapman or UCRiverside.

UCLA seems like a reach. USD and Irvine are matches. You should consider other schools like BU if you’re not dead set on california :)

Chance back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1615552-usc-uc-s-claremont-consortium-etc-chances-and-some-ivy-reaches-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

I agree - USD and UCI are probably matches while UCLA is unlikely.

Good luck.

I have a 4.1 and a 1510 sat, is that astronomically low for ucla? I applied as an english major and can say my essays were pretty good. Although my extracurricular activities were only limited to one club ( a college club since I started college as a junior) and my volunteering was only as a church youth mentor and makeup artist for plays, proms, photos, cheerleading, etc. Should I dismiss ucla all together ? I am overwhelmed with trepidation :(

I would say UCLA is a reach due to your SATs and weighted GPA. UCSD low reach/high match, Davis and Irvine are matches.
Good luck!
