I would greatly appreciate any advice! Could you recommend any good match schools for me as well? Thank you very much!

Washington is a match. UCLA is a pretty decent reach. The gpa is a little low but the scores need to be improved atleast 150 points to have a decent shot.

What is your UC GPA?

An SAT score of 1300 translates to an 1820 on the old scale, which if I’m not mistaken, is only a couple points above the 25% rank score of 1790 and more than a hundred points below its average SAT score of 1940. UCLA’s common data set states that applicants have an SAT of about 1336 average. Your SAT score would put you in the quarter of the applicant pool. In my opinion, UCLA is a reach for you. If UCLA is your dream school, I suggest you retake the SAT and get around a 1400+ as UCLA admittance is undoubtedly tough.

Do you wish to apply to the other UCs? If your UC GPA is high (4.0+) you may want to consider UCI/UCD?

thank you for your advice

UW match, UCLA high match. Just curious, how did you get a 4.39 weighted with only one AP? Keep in mind that UCs only weight APs, so your school-designated honors courses will not count towards their weighting.

I don’t know, maybe our honors classes count for a lot of credits but i just copied numbers from my transcript tbh. To calculate an UCLA gpa, do I count every grade that i got in every quarter or an overall grade for the course? I was kinda confused about that…

@aesa98: Use the Roger Hub UC GPA calculator. It lets you select how your HS reports grades by quarter/semester or trimester. Also you only get 1 extra honors point for each semester of an AP class so 2 quarters=1 semester. Maximum honors points are 8 semesters.

https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

UCLA will use the unweighted GPA for 10-11th, the UC capped weighted GPA (up to 8 semesters honors points) and fully weighted UC GPA which uses unlimited points for AP/IB or DE course. If your Honor’s courses are not UC approved (Calif. HS only), then you do not get the extra honors points in the calculation.

UCLA uses uncapped, which means they award a full point extra for AP’s. Only AP’s, though. If you’re in-state, certain school honors courses may qualify for the extra point. If you are in state, you can check here ( https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist#/list/search/institution ) to see if any of your school honors courses are UC-approved. Let me know if you need help.
