Chances of getting into UCLA?

So far, I have taken the PSAT : 201 and the Explore PLAN test (Practice ACT): 28
I plan on getting no lower than a 2000 on the actual SAT, but the PSAT was my first time taking anything remotely close to the SAT. Same goes for the ACT.

I live in New Jersey, if that makes a difference.

To be honest, I am not sure of my exact GPA at the moment (they don't give them until later on this year), but I know for a fact that it is high (the majority of my grades are As)

Extra curriculars:
Soccer (since I was four)
President of Spanish Club (I want to minor in Spanish)
Interact Club
SEPAC (Environmental Club)
CERT (Emergency Response Team)
Science League (Biology Freshman Year, Chemistry Sophomore Year, and Physics this year)
Holiday Festival: we go to an underprivileged city near us and have a day full of activities for the kids.
Volunteering: Local women and children's shelter, daycare center, various events such as Buddy Walk, CancerCare, etc., Started a food drive for the local shelter, Clean-ups (the list goes on)
I volunteer my time to help Invisible Children (door-to-door fundraising, last year I stayed silent for 25 hours and wrote to my state representative)
Went to Interact Leadership Conference
Will MOST LIKELY be in World Language National Honor Society and National Honor Society
I am applying for an internship at Mt. Sinai that involves children (I plan on becoming a Pediatric Oncologist)

Any questions feel free to ask!

Average for UCLA is a 4.2 UC GPA and a 2160. They do want more OOS students. But make sure your parents know it could very well take 5 years to get the classes you need to graduate, making it one of the most expensive US schools for an OOS student with almost no aid.

You need to do well on the SATs and SAT 2s. 2000 wouldn’t be good enough for a school like UCLA. Other than that, you seem ok, but the essays should be stellar. Try to start early.

I got in last year with a 3.83 UC GPA and an 1840 on the SAT I. Also, my EC’s were decent at best, and my personal statement was meh. You’re fine.

Some of my other friends also got in with similar stats.

^ That makes me feel really good about my chances :)

OOS 4.2 GPA, 29 ACT, tons of APs, ECs, Work + Volunteering.

As for meganmcphee

Just keep up a good GPA and you should be fine. OOS is a big advantage for the UCs right now (they’re facing a budget “crisis” and need people to pay).
