I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I'm just curious of what colleges I can get into with my current statistics. I'm new to college confidential so I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread or something. Anyways, what are my chances of getting into UC's/private schools with the following statistics:

Freshman Year:
Mainly B's and A's
1 Honors class, 1 weighted class
GPA roughly 3.3 unweighted

Sophomore Year:
One C in Alg2/Trig (in my defense I had knee surgery that semester and fell behind in my classwork) Brought this up to a B second semester.
GPA roughly 3.3 first semester and 3.5 second semester

SAT; 2030 as of summer of freshmen year, plan on bringing this to a 2300+

Extracurriculars (this is my forte)
-Student Ambassador at World Affairs Council
-varsity wrestling (3 years) and soccer (11 years)
-writer for school newspaper
-VP of JSA club
-200 volunteer hours (and counting)
-Won numerous technology/engineering based competitions
-Started program to build schools in Myanmar
-Red Cross Conference Delegate
-Volunteer at Chabot museum

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :D

You’re competitive to already in for every uc besides uc Berkeley and ucla I believe. Then again I’m Texan so might wanna get another opinion.

Your extracurriculars are pretty good for a sophomore. And don’t worry about that C, my cousin got the same grade in precalc in sophomore year and he’s attending Duke. He didn’t even have an excuse like you did.
Anyways, if you want to go to UCLA or Berkeley (you’re good for others) or other nationally prominent schools, you’re gonna want to pull that GPA up a bit. You’ll need about 3.7 UW if you want to safely get in, and you’ll have to be in top 5-10% to be competitive. Plus, you’ll definitely need to take a challenging courseload and as many APs/Honors/IB classes you can take. And you have to do really well in junior year because that year’s very VERY important. SAT doesn’t need to 2300+, I suppose 2200 is just as fine, though it’s a plus if you do get that score. Take a couple of SAT subject tests, math and physics/chemistry if you want to do engineering, which I presume you do. I’d say to get about 700+.
Remember that you don’t need to amazing for these schools, just be yourself. They just want to see that you’ve challenged yourself academically and socially. Do your best, that’s what really important. Being yourself helps at the end of the day!
Hope I helped. Best of luck! :)
