what are my chances of getting into the following univsersities?

UCSD
UCI
UCBerkely
UCLA
UCSB

Any advice on what I should do is welcome. And please I need your helps.

You definitely need to get that GPA up. All the UC’s you listed would be major reaches with your GPA, especially Berkeley and UCLA who reject tons of 4.0+ GPA students every year. I’d try to raise your GPA to a 3.0 or above, and then with a good SAT score, you’d have a shot at UC Merced, Riverside, and Santa Cruz. Your extracurriculars are good but unfortunately GPA is paramount when it comes to UCs.

EDIT: Also, if you are taking honors/AP classes, that will only be to your benefit, as well.

Thank you. Currently I am taking H. spanish H math analy and APUSH and a regular computer class the following semester i am planning on taking H eng, H Chem Swim, and Art

No problem. Course rigor looks good, just work hard on that GPA! Good luck!

3.0 GPA is a requirement for UCs!!! My friend had an insanely close GPA of like 2. 89 and could only apply to CSUs. It absolutely crushed her so RAISE THAT GPA even if you have to nag your teachers for that extra point on your tests like a sycophantic nit picker!!!

As the poster above has said, you need a 3.0 UC GPA to even apply. They’re not even going to look at your application with that GPA despite your test scores. And even if you were able to get that 3.0 GPA, all those schools are reaches even with your test scores. If you really want to get into any UC, look at Riverside, Merced, or Santa Cruz. If you really want to go to those UCs you posted, I suggest taking the CC route and doing well there, then transfer to those schools. Choice is yours. Good luck.

You need to calculate your UC GPA, which only considers sophomore and junior years and has a weighting system. You can get the formula on the UC Pathways website. There used to be a way you could be admitted just based on test scores so look for info on the website about that.

I’d say no matter what you do at this point Berkeley, LA and SD are not going to happen. As others have said, look at the lower tier schools or do 2 years at a CC and transfer. Here are stats for last year’s accepted students–this year will be tougher as they are accepting fewer freshmen and more from OOS:

[UC Admissions Statistics](http://www.ophs.opusd.k12.ca.us/uc_admissions_statistics.htm)

if get a’s in about 50% of those honors classes that should boost your range to UCSC standards with good test scores you might have a chance at ucsb

chance me
