Chances of getting into UCSB, Cal Poly Pomona, and Cal Poly SLO

First off, I need to mention that I have no APs/honors and essentially no extracurricular activities. I did not care about getting into "good" colleges until the latter half of my junior year, hence the zero APs/honors and no extracurricular activities. From what I've seen, it will be basically impossible to get into any of these schools since the only thing I have going for me is that I get straight As and I plan on having a high SAT score. I'm guessing there's not really a chance for any of these, but I might as well make a thread to see. My intended major would most likely be electrical or mechanical engineering. It is my understanding that it will be harder to get into UCSB and SLO since they both ask that you select a major beforehand.

I will be a senior this year and these are my classes and grades from 10-11:

Sophomore year:
Algebra IB: A/A
Biology: B/A
English 2: A/A
Spanish 2: A/A
World History: A/A

Junior year:
Geometry: A/A-
Spanish 3: A/A
English 3: A/A
U.S. History: A/A
Chemistry: A/A

My CSU/UC GPA is 3.95

PE not listed of course, but I obviously got an A every semester for that.

I played baseball in 9th and 10th grade (Freshman team in 9th, JV in 10th), but I would assume that doesn't matter much since I didn't play throughout all of high school and I was never on varsity.

I have had a job since November of last year and now have a second job as well.

I haven't yet taken the SAT, I'm planning on taking the SAT twice (Or thrice, but I haven't really figured out whether or not it would be possible to take the test in December and have the scores turned in my deadlines) and the ACT once. So rather than me posting my SAT/ACT scores, I will ask that you post what SAT/ACT score you think I would need to get to even have a chance at any of these schools.

Community Service: 50 hours as a summer school TA. Another 50 scattered in some other random things.

I am in-state

I come from a low income family (Don't have an exact number to give you, but my family is on welfare)

I am Hispanic.

You have a great chance at these places, especially since you come from a harder background than most people. You should try to get around 28 on the ACT or 1900 or so on the SAT to stand a realistic chance in these places. Also, we would be able to better assess your chances if you said what major you want to go into because these colleges are generally really selective for something like for example engineering (I dont know about UCSB though), so if you went for something else, it would be easier to get in as that instead.

Can you please chance me back, too? Thanks!

I’ve edited the post a bit adding in some more information. For one thing, I am going into an engineering major. From my understanding, UCSB also asks that you select a major beforehand like SLO does. I don’t plan on changing majors to get into any specific schools, however.

I can try to chance you, but I’m not sure my input will be of much help. I’m not too knowledgeable on the subject of colleges.

Coming from an disadvantaged background will help with UCSB since you can explain your situation in your essays, however; if you come from a school where a lot of AP’s are offerred, you will be at a disadvantage since you did not take the more rigorous schedule of classes. Adcoms expect you take the highest rigor offerred at your school and still maintain a good GPA. You will be competing with applicants that have anywhere from 5-12 AP classes under their belt. My younger son had several friends that were all 4.0+ with SAT scores of 2100+ that were denied for ME at SLO (very competitive). I would say if you get a good SAT score at least 1900+ or ACT of 30+ you would be a little more competitive. I hope you have a few more schools you are considering. I would add SJSU/CSULB/SDSU to your list.
CPP: Match
SLO/UCSB: Low Reach
Good Luck on your exams.
