Chances of getting into UCSD or UCD?

<p>UCSD is my dream college right now, but I think my chances are pretty slim so I'm looking at UC Davis as my second choice. Just wondering if I should still have some hope of being accepted to UCSD. </p>

<p>Major: Biomedical Engineering (impacted, I know), also considering Psycho-biology </p>

<p>SAT: 1920 (retaking)
ACT: 29 right now but my writing score is not in yet (could change by 1 point up or down)
GPA: UW- 3.6, W- 4.5, UC GPA- 4.2</p>

<p>Awards:
4.0 academic school awards (nothing special)
Valedictorian (will be)
Community Youth Day Service Award (awarded by City)</p>

<p>I plan on getting my SAT score up by at least 100 points as I'm in private tutoring now and did not study at all for my last score. </p>

<p>Your unweighted GPA is very low, but a 4.2 is a good capped UC GPA. How did you calculate your UC GPA? 4.2 seems impossibly high when compared to your 3.6 unweighted GPA.</p>

<p>I was using an unofficial transcript and my unweighted included all 4 years, so I went off my grades and calculated it myself. My UC GPA is more accurate than my UW.</p>
