Considering applying to UCSF for their Pharmacology program as I know a former professor in that department.
Degrees:
MS from Univ. of Michigan - Ann Arbor, Major: Molecular Biology
BSc from Univ of British Columbia - Vancouver, Double Major: Cell Biology and Psychology
Ugrad GPA: 76.5% (which is 3.2 to 3.3…? Or so I was told) B+, basically.
Grad (Master’s) GPA: 3.65
GRE: 324
While I don’t have any publications, I have about 20 months of research experience (and counting as I’m a research scientist in the industry currently). My research experience is varied but is all within the Biomedical field.
My recommendations have been fairly glowing so far and seeing as I’m going to use the same professors, they should be good recs going into my PhD application.
My one and major concern is my lack of publications. I have a high chance of publishing at my current job but by the time I do, the application deadline to UCSF would have passed so I can hardly include that in my application.
Might have missed some vital info…let me know if that’s the case!
So…um…what are my chances?
