So as of now, I am a high school senior and I have a rough list of colleges that I will be applying to this fall. Near the top of the list is the University of Illinois at Chicago. I was wondering if you guys could provide me with some insight as to my chances of getting in

GPA: 3.0 (I know it's low, mostly due to Freshman/Sophomore years slacking)
ACT: 28
Extra Curriculars: President of school's business club, President of school's SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Chapter, Member of school's Peer Student Tutors Program

Ethnicity-wise, I am also a minority, so will that somehow boost my application?

Should not be a problem, especially if you’re showing an upward trend. If you’re in-state, it may be a good choice. If you’re out-of-state, it’s simply not worth the $40K/year COA.

You should be fine especially because of your ACT. My brother goes to UIC, so if you have any other questions I could probably answer them. He really likes it : )

Yeah, I definitely think you’ll be able to get in. And about the minority status, I do think that will be a plus, especially because when I visited they talked a TON about how they were one of the most diverse schools or something along those lines.

Thanks for the responses guys! Heres to an acceptance letter!
