Hello, this is one of my first posts on here.

I am currently attending a community college in Florida. I am going there only because I have a scholarship that pays for it, so it was the best choice for me to save money for when I transfer to a university.

Right now I am pursuing my AA to transfer to University of Florida. That is the only university I want to attend in Florida, unless there is another state school in Florida that has a better Graphic Design program.

I have read all of the information for transferring into the Graphic Design program at UF and they require a minimum 3.0 GPA, portfolio and the pre-requisite courses, because it is a highly selective, limited access program. They only admit 18 students into the program a year.

I want to get into the program so bad and I am applying to it next year. I currently have a 4.0 GPA in college and a really strong portfolio. I still don't know if that is enough though, because Graphic Design is a limited access major.

Here are my stats:
GPA: 4.0
Pre-professional: 4.0
President's List every semester so far.
I will graduate Summa Cum Laude with my AA.

I also have a Bright Future's scholarship.

Clubs:
Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society
Art Club

I'm not sure if my high school stats matter, but I guess I will list them as well. Keep in mind, they aren't great, but not horrible either. I took a load of AP and honors classes and my freshman and sophomore year I didn't do my best, which is why the GPA isn't great. My junior and senior year I made straight A's and got a lot more involved.

Unweighted GPA: 3.4
Weighted GPA: 3.8
125 volunteer hours.
Clubs: Graphic Design Club (10th-12th), Art Club (9th-12th), Spanish Club (10th-12th) and Creative Writing Club (11th-12th).

Also, I don't know if this helps, but I have been working as a Graphic Designer for a local shirt printing company for almost a year now. Maybe that will help my chances?

I really don't know what I will do if I don't get accepted into the Graphic Design program at UF.
How is the Advertising major at UF? That would be my second choice, if I do not get into the Graphic Design program. Is there any creativity in the Advertising major or do you learn more of the business side of it?

Thank you all so much for any help!
