Chances of getting into USC from a CC?

I'm currently a senior in Cali who's grades aren't so good.
(I got a 2.8 on my transcript and my SAT's a 1650 -__-)

I'm considering some of the higher csu's and lower uc's but I don't get into either I'll just go straight to CC.
I was wondering what the average GPA and core perquisites are for getting in USC as a sophomore. If I'm planning in majoring in business and civil engineering is it possible to get all required or recommended courses done in 2 semesters(maybe over the summer in addition)? And how impacted are these majors at USC?

Any help is appreciated.

If you can afford it, go to Marymount Junior College in Palos Verdes. It’s a private school that sends tons of kids to USC and LMU after freshman year, because it’s basically a cakewalk and they get amazing grades. I think it costs about $30,000, but if you’re considering USC its probably worth it.

Don’t waste your money on lower UC’s. If you get into a CSU, I would take that over a lower end UC like UCM or UCR.

Business is a highly impacted major (average admitted transfer students had a 3.8 GPA). But it is possible to finish all of your prereq coursework in just one year. Although it is a bit of an overdrive and maybe too much to handle, given it’s your first year for which ever college you go to. In my own opinion, I would suggest you take 2 years for where ever you go. The reason is because of the large workload for double majoring can be spread out, probable no Spring Grade Request, cheaper, have time for EC’s that may assist your application, and etc.

forget about UC’s and CSU’s, go straight to a CC, finish your USC core requirements and get A’s then transfer in as a sophomore. USC accepts transfer with as little as 30 units. Or do two years at a CC get a 3.6+ then transfer and save yourself about 80K =D

Lots of cc’s transfer to USC. I’m doing that from out of state. Just do what kweenovharts suggested and you should do ok. Take all the prereqs, get A’s in everything, get involved in some good EC’s and get a 3.6+ and you should be golden.
