(Also, if anyone knows the profile of a typical BHP admit, pls lmk)
Chances of getting into McCombs outside the top 7% are slim for any student. Definitely emphasize your DECA experience and hope for the best. As far as BHP, averages were 33, 1483 and top 2%. Seems strange, but your chances for BHP (if admitted) are much higher than your admission chances :-??
The BHP admissions website outlines the programs selection criteria: “Are you a leader at your high school? Have you challenged yourself by taking the most difficult classes available and mastering them? Do you go above and beyond to succeed inside and outside of the classroom? These are some of the questions we ask our high achieving future students. Grades and test scores are extremely important to the process as is leadership and extracurricular activities.” Based on students that I know admitted to the program, if you can answer “yes” to each of these questions (particularly the leadership question) then you have a very good chance.
