Chances of Getting into UT Austin?

<p>Okay so I'm hoping to get into UT Austin (obviously) for a Biochemistry Major, and I was just wondering what happens if you're below top 8%. My class rank is 30/392 which puts me at the top 7.6%. Does this mean that I will not be eligible for automatic admission?</p>

<p>I am a Hispanic AP/Honors student
Weighted GPA: 5.18
Unweighted GPA: 3.96
SAT: 1900</p>

<p>I'm involved in Band
Symphonic Orchestra (First Chair Viola)
Class and Student Council Representative
National Honor Society
Mu Alpha Theta </p>

<p>So...what would my chances be of getting in? :/</p>

<p>Hard to say. I know a kid like you who was denied. We were all shocked. Retake the SAT and get a higher score and write some great essays!</p>
