Im an in state student and have already applied for the fall 1020 semester

im ranked 81/612 (top 13%)
Have an SAT score of 2020

I applied to for Biology as my first choice major and Psychology as my second choice major.

and I have had a very rigorous course schedule my entire high school career (i have never taken a non-honors class is the honors option was available)

You have a pretty okay shot, truly you need to try applying and see. UT knows it’ll get top 8% students, and that high ranked kids still love to go there. I think the cap, and new top 8% rule was made for kids who were top 10% but couldn’t even manage a 1900 SAT. Considering basically you’re 2 major stats (your major’s and schedule are not strong determinants of acceptance) you have a decent shot of getting in. This why you’re case is ambivalent somewhat. I really do hope you’re able to get in. You sound like a smart kid who was screwed over by taking harder than needed courses. Good Luck =)

Assuming you live in Texas, you need to apply EARLY and make sure you write a darn good essay.
That top 10% rule kills some pretty good applicants. Applying outside of top 10%, you’re competing for the last 30% of the spots UT has.
So make youself standout.
