<p>I'm rank 41 out of 708 so I'm already accepted and whatnot, but what are my chances of getting into the petroleum engineering program?</p>

ACT 29 - Math 31 Reading 32 Science 27 English 24...(damn English..)</p>
<p>I've played football for 4 years, Varsity for 3. (We also won the state championship in 2010 if that matters.)
Was Nominated to the Houston Academic Touchdown Club, but didn't win anything.

<p>Your SAT might bring about your demise. Your math score is great, but your other two are seriously lacking–especially reading. Your ACT is much better, so that might help though. Keep in mind that petroleum engineering is one of the most competitive major at UT, so if you dint get accepted, don’t kill yourself over it. </p>
<p>My UT EID still says i’m auto accepted, but they haven’t decided on my major yet. Same thing with another friend of mine who applied to the petroleum engineering program but he’s in the top 2% and a 2100 SAT.</p>
<p>That’s why I told you that it was competitive. They probably won’t make the decisions till probably mid January at best. That’s usually how it goes for competitive majors.</p>
