*That’s all I can think of off the top of my head & sorry about not including awards/achievements.

I understand that the recommendations and essay are also important components in the admissions process (I think my recs will be pretty solid), but right now I’m worried about the grades/extracurriculars portion of my apps. And something I’m even more worried about is the fact that I’m Asian American and how that may lessen my chances getting into these two schools, yikes.

Honestly, I think you have a great shot at getting accepted to both. Given that you are an instate applicant to UVA and have excellent extracurricular activities, I think you are a shoo-in. Wil and Mary is private- however, it seems that by holistic review, you will have a great shot given that you are at or above average for all aspects. Good luck!

I don’t know what jackisawesome is talking about. William & Mary is a public school just like UVA. It’s also where I currently attend. You are taking a rigorous courseload, in the top 5 percent of your class, and potentially have taken 16 (am I reading that right?) AP courses by the time you graduate high school. You should be fine. The only thing I could think of even improving on is looking to take on greater responsibility or leadership roles in the extracurriculars that you are involved in. Perhaps this means trying out for a captain position or leading a philanthropy project where you auction off some of your art and donating the money to a cause you care about. Otherwise you’re good
