Chances of getting into UW

I am a resident in the Seattle area and have applied as a freshman to UW, UT Austin and Purdue University.

Although my first choice is UW, I applied to the other ones just for a backup. I am a running start student and am completing all the pre requisites for the major Aerospace and Aeronautics at Green River College. My plan is as I get admitted to UW as a freshman, I will also apply for the major as a upper division applicant since by the end of my running start program I will be done with the pre requisites for their aerospace program.

Now the thing is, I got a decision from Purdue that I am denied admission to their engineering department but offered an alternative major. That’s pretty much a denial from Purdue, which made me feel really low of myself and right now I feel frustrated if I will be able to even get into UW.

I understand it’s not possible to say right away by looking at my academic history if I can make it to UW, but can someone at least tell me if I have a chance there?

Highschool GPA: 3.93
College GPA: 3.65
AP: None
IB: N/A
Full Time Running Start Student

SAT 1: Critical Reading: 490 | Math: 610 | Writing: 460 Total: 1560
SAT 2: Critical Reading: 460 | Math: 630 | Writing: 540 Total: 1630

Clubs: Robotics, American Society of Mechanical Engineers

Employment: Assistant Teacher at Kumon Math and Reading, Student Helpdesk Employee at Green River IT department

Essay was about peer pressure from family and how I overcame it to realize whats best for me and how important working hard is.

UW knows I am hoping to be placed into the Aerospace program since I am completing the pre requisites before Fall 2016.

I gave the similar info to the Purdue University but got denied, and so I am really frustrated.

Thanks in advance!

I hope someone will reply to this thread, the frustration is real guys.

Your math and reading scores are low for engineering standards. Why not consider an alternate major?

Even if you do get accepted somewhere as an engineering major you might struggle a lot.

really low chance :frowning: You gotta get that SAT score up to 1800. I recommend some vigorous practice and you should be all good  Worst comes to worst, you take the new SAT and learn it (maybe its easier for you)

really low SAT score

especially for engineering and screams grade inflation

Like everyone else is saying you need higher SAT scores.
And why don’t you have any IB or AP courses? Were they not offered at your high school?

i think its cause he took college courses given that he listed a college GPA, many schools have programs where you take CC as oppose to AP/IB
