Chances of getting into Vanderbilt Early Decision?

I have made all A's on my transcript. I am ranked number 12 out of 370 in my class with an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 4.45.
This year I am taking 6 AP classes, last year I took 3, and my sophomore year I took 1 (world history). These are pretty much the maximum amount I could possibly take.
I am extremely involved in the community- founded my own community service club and have raised over $4,000 for various charities, I am the captain of a sports team, I am in NHS and tutor children, I have played an instrument since I was little, as well as participate in other clubs at my school.
I have visited the campus 3 times, set up an (optional) alumni interview which went extremely well, have been in contact with my local representative, and I am a legacy (3 relatives who graduated).
My only issue are my SAT scores which are 1870. I have never been a strong test-taker.

My grades/class rigor are as strong as possible and I have very fierce extracurriculars. But with these SAT scores, what are my chances of getting in early decision? (I applied to Peabody)

Your an interesting applicant ED. Applying ED may just bump you into the accepted pile even with your sat or you may be wait listed and compared to the rest of the applicants. Even if you are wait listed I could see you getting taken off the wait list because you are unique, and could possibly be more desirable after RD. I don’t think you’ll get rejected ED. Good luck!

There is no waitlist for Ed at Vandy. Either you get in or not. Of course you can always apply ED2 or RD. I agree with captainkirk, you are interesting because your GPA is very good, your course work is hard but SAT1 is not up there for Vandy. Your state Flagship would love to take you though. Over all you are a good candidate.

So…sorry to say…my son has a 35 ACT, 2300 SAT, 8 AP classes, excellent recs and ec’s and National Merit Scholar. He was just rejected for ED at Vanderbilt. Better cast your net wideer than Nashville, to be safe.
