Vanderbilt has been one of my top choices for a while, and I was wondering what my chances of getting in would look like. I got an 1850 on the SATs, and also took 3 SAT subject tests in English, Spanish, and math, but haven't received my scores yet. I also took the ACTs last Saturday, so I don't have those scores yet either, but I think I got somewhere around a 29. Freshman and sophomore years I took all honors, and my junior year I took honors civics, honors global perspectives, Trig BC (AP level), Spanish 4, AP Enlgish 11, art, honors chemistry, and web-design. I do something called elite competitor which takes the place of gym because I have over 10 hours of dance a week. My senior year I will be taking AP English 12, AP phych, AP Spanish, AP calc AB, AP biology, photography, and French 1. Outside of school I dance a lot, and have been dancing for 14 years. I was on student council for 2 years and am now a member of the yearbook club. I am also the secretary of National Honors Society for the 2010-2011 year.
thanks!

Your EC’s seem to be up to par but that SAT score is too low.

Your SAT isn’t too low. I’ve heard of people getting in with lower, but just make sure you show that you are unique and have something to actually offer. And don’t join clubs just to put them on your college app because they don’t like stuff like that, they want to see you doing things you are actually interested in. (spoke with admissions)

I had a pretty similar situation as you, and I was rejected right out of high school. I’m transferring this semester.

With your stats I feel like Vanderbilt would be a big reach at best under RD, and still a reach under ED. You need to retake the SAT and ACT.
