I have a 3.1 GPA but I’ve taken all honors/AP courses, and my senior year schedule is all AP classes. I have an 1190 SAT in critical reading and math with an 1860 overall. Will I be ok even though my GPA is pretty low? I’m not really expecting to get into UD but my heart is set on West Chester.
This is my first chance thread reply, but I live right near WCU and I know a bit about some people that have gotten in. Your SAT score is above the average, so you should be good in terms of that. While your GPA might be a bit low, the classes on your transcript will show that you challenged yourself. Is the 3.1 your weighted or unweighted GPA?
Unweighted. I believe my weighted GPA would be around a 3.65
I was told that the students accepted last year had a 3.8 GPA or higher. Did you try Indiana University of Pennsylvania. It is the “West Chester” of Pittsburgh. Nice campus, great suite style dorms and easier to get into. But you must apply soon. My daughter is also going for Nursing. Delaware is a reach for her because of her SAT scores (1220 M & R), but she is an un-weighted 4.0 with 6 AP’s and 2 duel enrollment classes. She has been accepted to West Chester. Good Luck.
