Chances of getting NROTC Scholarship - Marine Option

I just finished all parts of the NROTC scholarship application. I was wondering how many scholarships they offer each year and my chances of getting it.

A bit about myself:
I'm Asian-American (only mentioning this because my recruiter told me that race plays a part into the scholarships offered. Can anyone confirm this?). My GPA is 3.93 weighted (4.4 last year and expected to be the same for my senior year). My SAT scores are 1860 and 1900. I only scored a 27 on my ACT though.

I have almost 700 hours of community service from the local police explorer program. I am a corporal in the program and I've been volunteering for over 2 years. I'm also in my school's Model United Nations program. I serve as Vice President for the conferences and I worked to train new MUN students my junior year. I'm very passionate about both programs and I put 110% into my leadership positions.

The number of scholarships varies each year and is not published. It is also not known how the gov’t shutdown is impacting the process.

Your application is very late. For maximum opportunities at the boards it should have been complete by 9/1/13

A lot of things come into play, including the govt shutdown possibly. But who else is applying, what your intended major is at college, also play a big role. My nephew did get a Marine NROTC award as an alternate with your stats, even a lower GPA, and did end up getting the award itself, so, yes, it is possible as this happened just a couple of years ago.
