Hi guys,
So I got accepted into UC Riverside last week, but I’m afraid I might get rescinded because of my grades from last semester. I got like 3 C’s, 1 A, 1 D. The D was in a stats course I took at a community college that wasn’t part of my a-g requirement because I’ve already completed the math requirements. Even though I do have confidence that I will do way better this semester, I’m still scared my admission will be revoked. Can you guys tell me if the UC’s look at the semester GPA or overall GPA of my entire transcript because my GPA last semester went down to like a 2.1 and my overall GPA was a 2.9. I also emailed the admissions office and they said that my admissions counselor would get back to me if the D affected my decision. Anyways, I know I totally messed up my chances and I feel really bad, but if anyone could give some insight/advice/answers, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
The provisional contract for most of the UC’s require that you maintain a weighted UC GPA of 3.0 your Senior year and no D’s or F’s. You are required to notify any UC if you receive any grade below a C. I would contact UCR immediately since you will want to know what your options will be and if you can maintain your provisional admission or consider another school. Do not wait until after May 1 when you will not have any options.
