Hello,

I am deciding between Hopkins and UPitt for BME next year.
Hopkins' program is supposed to be the best in the world, but I'm not sure if it is worth the extra money (I have a full tuition scholarship from UPitt).

After finishing undergrad, I plan to go either to medical school or to grad. school for BME, though I haven't yet decided between pure medicine (doctor), industry, research, or business in terms of a career path.

I really like JHU's program, but I am told that the best med schools in the country prefer students to have multiple school experience. So having an undergrad from JHU may actually not be helpful if I want to go for Hopkins medical.

Also since medical schools take GPA as a very big part of their admission decision, it may not help going for a JHU BME, as the average GPA is much lower than other schools/majors.

Is that true? What's your opinion/experience/advice? I'd really appreciate any data-points you may be willing to share, like number of JHU BME's admitted to top med. schools, min/avg/max GPA of these students or how many students from JHU BME ended up in whuch masters or med. program?

Thanks a lot in advance.
