Chances of Making Acad?

<p>I'm a sophomore at Newport HS in Bellevue. I just applied for Acad, I'm wondering what my chances are of getting in?
My stats:
4.0GPA unweighted, 4.43 weighted
3 APs this year, none last year (APCS, AP physics B, AP world)
33 on ACT, 36, 32, 33, 32, 10 (english, math, reading, science, writing)
ECs:
Chinese school since kindergarten, 250 hours of community service, including time as both teacher and assistant manager (for Chinese Summer School)
"Knight Valor" award (100 community service hours)
Cello (BYSO Sinfonia, private lessons, some other orchestras)
Badminton (difficult to explain, not much distinctive here)
Tutoring (geometry, trig, precalc, bio, chem, ap physics b, apcs, ACT)
Business (USD400 a month revenue)</p>

<p>Asian male, essays were probably average, I'm pretty bad at writing</p>

<p>What is Acad?</p>

<p>Its an early entrance program</p>

<p>[Robinson</a> Center UW Academy](<a href=“http://depts.washington.edu/cscy/programs/academy/]Robinson”>UW Academy - UW Robinson Center for Young ScholarsUW Robinson Center for Young Scholars)</p>

<p>Here’s the stats they give for admitted applicants:
For the incoming class of 2008, the average ACT composite score was 31 (range of 26-35) and the average GPA was 3.96 (range of 3.73-4.0)</p>

<p>Wow! you are in a different league! I am not qualified enough to judge. :)</p>

<p>What’s the hurry? Life is short, enjoy it.</p>

<p>I know quite a few of the people who got in, some are extremely distinguished and deserved to get in, others make you wonder how hard getting in could possibly be.
So far, not many people know about it so its not as selective as it sounds on the website</p>

<p>I think people who are ready to enter college should be able to do so at any age. I am glad there are places like Robinson Center that cater to naturally high achievers. </p>

<p>Isn’t Robinson Center the one behind the architecture building?</p>

<p>I believe so, its in a small cabin-like building, its directly to the right of one of the parking garages</p>

<p>Good luck. I also attended Newport, but moved away last year. :frowning: It’s a great school.</p>

<p>^
hella asians</p>

<p>(im asian too so dont say that im a racist)</p>

<p>Most of my friends are Asian. I have no problem with it. </p>

<p>The school is about 37% Asian. :)</p>

<p>you’re ivaylo aren’t you?
in heffernan ap world there’s a big poster, and your (if thats you) name is on it near one of the corners</p>

<p>Hahaha. Yeah. She’s an awesome teacher and you’re lucky that you have her. :)</p>

<p>I know a LOT of people in Acad, and your stats/profile make you sound well qualified for the program. Good luck! :)</p>

<p>anyone else?</p>

I know this is an old thread, but could anyone help me with my chances of being accepted?

Being Asian in a predominantly white school used to make me ashamed of my culture. But now I embrace it.
Taking and passing AP HUG in 8th grade might seem good, but passed with a 3 so I really don’t know. APs look good, and also took a bunch of honors classes.
Weaknesses: GPA

Thank you
