I am going into my senior year in high school. I live in the Chicago suburbs. I was attracted to Rutgers because they are one of the only 0-6 pharmacy schools remaining, and they are a large school with a lot to do, which is what I am interested in. I also read somewhere that it is extremely difficult to get into? Not sure if that is accurate but I'd like some opinions from students, or anyone at all :D

Here are my basic credentials:
GPA - 3.75 unweighted, 4.28 weighted

Class rank- top 8%

AP/Honors classes taken - Western Civ, English 1, Chem, Physics, Psychology, Spanish, US history, econ, gov

Activities - National Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Intramurals, JV cross country and track, international club, fellowship of christian athletes, school spirit squad

community service - 20+ hours over last 3 years volunteering at Chicago marathon, worked in food kitchens, helped unload boxes for food companies, etc

ACT score- 29

Work - I have had a job at Osco, a drugstore, for over a year now.

Experience with pharmacy - I work near a pharmacy so I have gotten a glimpse of what goes on, and talked to the pharmacists. I have yet to do any shadowing, but I am currently working on that now. I'll also plan on applying for a tech job in December when I turn 18.

And please, if anyone has any extra information they wish to share about the actual campus, surrounding city, things to do, quality of life, cleanilness, safety, any of that, please please let me know! Any reccommendations to improve my "resume" would help too. All this stresses me out. I know pharmacy is a difficult thing to get in to and I wanna know if I'm either wasting my time or if I have a chance. Thanks :)
