Eh, I'm not sure whether I fulfill the requirements of even having a chance of getting into UT's engineering program. First of all I am a resident of Texas, and I am ranked 30/518. That is top 6%. Also on my SAT, I got a 1750, which is broken down into a 670-Math, 530-Reading, and 550- Writing. My GPA is 3.69/4, kinda low due to the fact of the AP classes I have taken. Math Classes that I have taken: Geometry PreAP, Algebra II PreAP, PreCal PreAp, and Calculus AB(current). All pre-ap/AP english classes. Also I have taken Bio PreAP, Chem PreAP, Physics PreAP, Chem II AP, Bio II AP, and environmental science AP. I have other pre ap/ AP classes, though I think engineering would look at more along the basis of math and science related classes. I am apart of many organizations such as National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, Distributive Education Clubs of America, and Math Honor Society. Also, I have taken 3 years of spanish, and I have quite alot of volunteering experience. I just listed out everything, so you guys can get a better grasp of where I am coming from. I am interested in biomedical and chemical engineering! Let me know what you guys think my chances are! thank you!

Sorry but BME isn’t within reach with these stats. Even ChemE is quite a stretch. My friend from high school got rejected from it with a top 5% rank, 1900 SAT, soccer + band leadership.

And on your application, I would be wary of listing all of your clubs. The adcoms are looking for a person with dedication and passion. Listing each club you were a member of will probably hurt you in the end because it highlights the fact that most of those clubs must have taken up little of your time. If you have any leadership in any clubs list those along with any others that you’re seriously passionate about.

However, you didn’t really mention how your essays were and these can play a huge factor now that you’re being reviewed holistically. It’s an uphill battle but a couple great essays can be the one-two punch you need. Oh and don’t forget to divide it in to paragraphs :)

I’m with frever on this one. I’m not sure when the deadline to apply is, but I’d try to retake the SAT to boost your score to be competitive for ChemE. BME is not a possibility at this point. Good luck and hook 'em!
