So basically I am thinking about doing an early decision to Northwestern University. My gpa is too bad. 76 out of a hundred. I have an ACT score of 32. My SATII scores are: 760 from Math 1, 800 from Physics and 730 from World History. I am from Turkey so the sports system is a bit different but I have been the captain of the school mens swimming team for 3 years. I had done a lot of volunteer work. I think I have great recommendations letters from my teachers in school and a great outsider recommendation letter from the head national team coach. I also think that my personal essay is very effective. I am thinking about double majoring in political science and economics. What do you think my chances are?
At your school, what is the top student’s GPA? How many students are in your year? Do you know how you rank among them? 76 out of 100 seems extremely average at first glance. It would equal a 2.5GPA here which would give you ZERO chance at most decent schools. But please elaborate what 76/100 means.
The top student’s GPA is 91. Also, my school is the 2nd best school in my country according to the high school entrance exam scores and it is also a very hard school to get high grades. I don’t think anybody got above 3.8 GPA in last 10 years.
