Chances of me getting into PA school

So I got accepted to SF state, Chico, UCSC and was planning to go to chico state to major in biological sciences and hopefully get into PA school after i get my degree
my question is would my chances of getting into a PA school be lower because I’m getting a degree from a school thats not looked upon as rigorous compared to a UC, or is a degree a degree no matter where you get it from as long as your GPA is high and requirements for PA school is all complete? in the GPA is all that matters?

Your chances of getting into a Physician Assistant (PA) school with a BS degree from any of these schools is about zero if all you’ve done is earn your degree. PA schools expect a few thousand hours of medical experience before entry, typically done by working as a nurse who then goes back for further education. People with Bio degrees don’t get jobs in nursing.

@mikemac is right in that you will need many hours of clinical experience but it does not have to be nursing. Any of the above schools will have the classes needed to apply to a PA program, but finding the opportunities for clinical experience will be more difficult.
