Chances of me getting into UCSD

Hey, my number one choice right now for school I want to get into in UCSD. Right now I have 27 credits and have 2.5 (Not Many of the courses don't transfer because they are non-transfer classes. I have a learning disability and would like to be part of one of the best public colleges I can get into. One of my goals is to get into one of the University of California. I talked to one of the disability counselors and said I still have a shot to boost my GPA up and said I can partition some of the bad grades to raise my GPA up. I want your guys opinions, I would appreciate it if I get a reply. Most of the time I do not. My major is undeclared, but I am stuck between Biology and Anthropology. I really just love to learn about both subjects and can't decide which one to pick. I have about two professors at the moment that will give me a letter of recommendation. Would that increase my chances? If you guys have any other suggestions for me please don't be shy. I would HIGHLY appreciate any response. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

UCSD is a highly selective university and often does not accept students with a GPA lower than 3.45 and that’s still cutting it close! The nice thing is an application through the UC system allows you to explain yourself a little bit more than the CSU system, for example. You can mention everything in your personal statements and show them that you have grown academically over time. Make sure you use assist.org to see what you need to transfer to UCSD smoothly and try to boost your grades a little higher. All UC schools are very particular about transfer admission so look into that as well. I, myself, applied to UC campuses with less than spectacular grades and I got accepted to UCR & UCM, wait listed at UCI, and rejected at UCSD (too many missing classes). So I say anything is possible if you work for it! (:

First you need to pick a major. Then you need to take what UCSD recommends you take for that major. Your GPA needs to be way higher than a 2.5, especially if you want to get into a science major at UCSD which is very competitive.

Do whatever you can to replace your worse grades, especially if your school has a grade-forgiveness program. You should be aiming for straight A’s.

UC’s do not accept letters of recommendation.

Good luck! If you work hard enough, you’ll be rewarded.
