chances of merit aid at dickinson?

<p>hi, i'm a rising senior trying to figure out my college list. i'm trying to find financial safeties and since i don't like any of the publics i've seen (they're way too big), i'm trying to find small LACs that are likely to give me merit aid.</p>

<p>My Stats:
GPA: 4.36 W, ~3.85 UW (they don't really tell us every year)
SAT: **2350
**SAT IIs: 800 Math 1, 800 US History
ECs: **GSA (4 years), Amnesty International (2 years), Chorus (3 years), Photo Club (2 years), A Capella Group (1 year, starting next year b/c quit chorus)
**Leadership: Copresident of GSA (2 years), Urgent Actions Coordinator for Amnesty (1 year + half a year as interim secretary)
Awards: French Honor Society, Community Service Award (50-100 hrs), George Washington University Book Award</p>

<p>with these stats, how likely do you think it would be for me to get merit aid at dickinson?</p>

<p>I think you would likely get a merit scholarship. Do you think you will also qualify for regular FA? If not, I’m not sure a merit scholarship would make Dickinson a financial safety. I think, haven’t checked lately, that Dickinson’s largest merit scholarship is $20,000 a year.</p>

<p>Ok thanks :slight_smile: we’re not going to qualify for FA the first year b/c of savings, so my parents and I just want to find anything that just brings the price down by a decent amount, so even though more is obviously better, a scholarship of $10-20k would be perfect for us.</p>

<p>I had similar stats, slightly lower SATs, slightly higher GPA, about the same EC/community service wise, and I received the 20k a year (highest) merit scholarship to Dickinson. I think you have a great shot at it!! It came down to money for me, and it was because of the scholarship that I will be starting Dickinson in the fall :)</p>

<p>I was the same way about larger public schools; maybe check out Clark University as they tend to give decent merit aid as well.</p>
