Chances of my life.

Well guys let me start off with my background.

African-american
16years old
Very smart
I come from a bad neighborhood, but i'm not an idiot i really would like to do something with my life i have been working hard for my success in life since i was 6 years old. I'm surviving the gangs, violence, and other thing that would hold people my age back from success.
Now on to my problem.

I'm a sophmore in high school i did bad my first 2 years and I'am now reporting my second year in high school. Now here is why I have been a very ill person since i was a kid. I was in the hospital for months during my elementary school years. I had strip nemoniua in my chest.(my bad for spelling my diagnose incorrect). Now in high school it seems i have suffered worse when i had stomach pains that were unbearable which kept me in and out of the hospital for months. Sophmore year it was basically the same thing until my doctor found out that i was sick because of i had to low of a diagnose of medicine. I missed my first 2 weeks of high school from being stranded in rockford from a car crash. My mom couldn't afford my medicine until she got help from medical aid to buy it. So basically i failed sophmore year now im repeating. This year first semester was a hell since i missed two week due to a spinal tap keeping me in bed without me being able to move. So i think i failed 2 classes 1st semester. It's a new semester and i have been well and i think i will stay like this for a long time. I have my medicine under control,my health, and now im attending school everyday.I'm looked at as the smartest students in my classes i mean every class. I'am even tutoring some kids that have higher gpa then me. I really want to succeed is there any help i can get? Like a scholarship from my situations or anything. I live n chicago.
I'm thinking about of becoming a accountant or a computer technology engineer.

I have been really depressed from this situation and if i fail in life i don't know what i will do.

I'm a well spoke person, math and technology are my good points. i have so many skills but it seems my hard work wont go anywhere. I dont know how i will pay for college.

i forget to mention my gpa is very low. I can get a good sat and act scores but i don’t know what will happen. I wont to succeed so badly i would do anything to have success. my intelligence shouldn’t be used for flipping burgers, bagging grocery bags it should be used for problem solving, designing are technology

You’re story is extremely sad…the difference between a sad life (one that invites pity and sympathy) and an inspirational life is what you do with it.

Millions of kids go through life with nothing and experience horrible circumstances (not to take away from the tough life that you have lived) but those who overcome these circumstances are the ones that everyone finds impressive…especially colleges.

Start new today, I am sure that most colleges will excuse, at least somewhat, you’re first year in high school due to your extenuating circumstances. Get your grades up, blow the SATs out of the water and I guarentee you that not only will you get into college but you will be offered some type of scholarship. One thing that will help you stand out and make you more appealing for a scholarship is doing something outside of the box. Start a community service project or a club at your school. I completely believe you when you say that you are intelligent, but you have to prove it not only through your grades and SATs but also through your ECs. Show that you made a difference in your city, that you left Chicago a better place than you found it. I know it sounds tough but I’m more than sure that you can do it and if you do…there is no doubt that you will get into a great college with some type of financial aid.

Message me if you want some more specific advice. Goodluck and I wish you the best of luck!

Well thanks man i messaged you and i will keep trying my heart out.

I really need help forum community.

Dang dude I’m so sorry for everything you’ve had to suffer thorough…
Pretty much every thing WestWingKid said is true…and idk what your GPA is, but if you can get like a 2000+ and get your GPA above a 3 by the end of Junior year…you could get into some of the best universities in the Nation, no doubt.
And be sure to include this experience in your Application Essay, 'cause it provides a reason for your bad grades, and gives the readers something new and interesting to read.
I hope everything get’s better for you man…
