Chances of Questbridge CPS?

Okay so I have been getting updates from Questbridge and am planning to apply for the College Prep Scholarship along with the other available programs for juniors. I'm just wondering if I have a chance at getting a scholarship or any type of award.

GPA : uw 4.01
Rank: (one semester old) 8/~300
SAT: will be taking in August - got a 186 PSAT
ACT: 29 (30 science, 30 English, 29 reading, 25 math, 9 writing) ---this score could be boosted - I took this freshman year with very minor knowledge of some topics, especially math (obviously)
APs: taking APUSH, AP Bio, AP Comp, and AP Chem this year

I also have taken 3 dual credited college biochemistry courses.

ECs:
-Academic Superbowl (10,11; team captain, 2x Regional Champions in Science and Interdisciplinary)
-Expecting to be inducted into NHS
-Swimming- 2x team captain, 3x Record Holder
-Other Sport (unnamed for anonymity) -multiple national rankings, novice of the year, state champion, etc.
-ChemE research at a local private university

Income: >$45,000

-I also work summers life guarding

I may have left out some stuff but thanks so much for reading everything and thanks for any input! You guys are the best! :)

you have a shot of getting invited to the conference or to be invited to visit a partner school

Quest for Excellence and the summer programs are extremely competitive, even more than Match

I think you have a decent shot. I got a conference invite and a Quest for Excellence award (Fein Fellow) with similar stats…

Thanks so much for the opinions!
Do you guys think if I improve my test scores that I would have a chance for the College Match?

Your income will probably be too high for match, but you should have a realistic chance at becoming a finalist.

How do you know that the income is too high?

OP said their income is >45,000 and most schools will only match students that have an EFC of 0. If OP has a huge family their EFC might be 0, but it is likely that they will have some EFC.

Where can you figure out EFC?

Sorry I didn’t mean >…,.i meant <…

Bumppppppp

In all reality income is <40,000

the majority of QB schools meet 100% of demonstrated need with no loans for a family with income under 60K (higher for Rice, I think 80K) so you will have your education paid for if you are accepted to any of these schools regardless of how you apply. The QB NCM pays for your travel expenses, books etc. as well, but I know quite a few students who have received similar FA packages, i.e. a FULL ride without applying through QB. An income under 40K depending on your family size puts you in a very competitive position for QB programs. Work on getting your scores up a bit – you are a rising junior so past performance doesn’t really predict how you’ll do this year – and with great academics ( make sure junior year grades are the very best they can be) and your athletic accomplishments you should be able to take advantage of the opportunities that QB offers to students like you.

Ok thanks so much! I do want to get my ACT up…I took that a while ago, and I am planning for the SAT and SAT II’s as well. At the end of this year I will be taking 5 AP exams and I’m pretty nervous about that…but we will see how it goes!:)
