BertrandMisc glad that you got full tuition. I am in the same boat as you trying to afford Pitt instead of my state school. I called financial aid on Friday and the staff said to me that I only qualified for a loan. She was patient and told me to call the admissions office for merit scolarship information. I have a 31ACT. Admissions staff told me that I did not qualify for merit even though I have higher scores. You also have to be top 5 percent of your class. There is no legacies either. The person at admissions office was very rude and not helpful. She repeated the same line about applying on time and getting things in. I asked and got no where. We had Sandy storm and our term was pushed off by two days. So my mid year grades went On 7th Jan. Looks like you have to be #1 in your class or low income/poor for MONEY. If you have parents who work and take care of you then forget it. I am so frustrated and have given up on Pitt. Why bother when they don’t care. Admissions also told me that all awards are given and nothing can be done.
