Chances of transfer into Northeastern?

I will be a sophomore this fall at a state college nearby. I have visited NEU a couple times and absolutely loved it. I really hope that I can get into NEU.

Here are some of my stats:

  • College GPA: 3.80
  • Major: Computer Science (planning to transfer into as Math major due to some issue)
  • Transfer semester: Spring 2017
  • Course taken:
    • Calc 2, Linear Algebra
    • Intro to CS, Data structure and algorithm
    • Will take this fall at current college: Discrete math, Advance Data structure and algorithm
    • Some general education courses to fulfill graduation requirement
  • EC:
    • I have done 2 volunteers works related to my major. Each last about a month.
    • I also have done more volunteers at food pantry over high school and freshmen year of college.
  • Recommendation letters: one from Calc 2 professor and one from CS professor.
  • Essay: Average
  • Ethnicity: Asian (first generation immigrant)

I would love some inputs about my chance, financial aid for transfer, things that I should look out for, etc.
Thank you very much!

Your courses and grades look really strong. I would say you have a very good chance.

@Totoro66 Thank you for the input! I really hope to get into NEU.

If anyone can share any information about financial aid policy, etc., I would really appreciate it!

Northeastern’s website is where you can find most of that - any specific questions?

Northeastern does have the Northeastern promise, which guarantees your aid for your whole stay: http://www.northeastern.edu/financialaid/aid/thenortheasternpromise/
