Hey all. I am currently a freshman at a state school here in Minnesota. I’m planning on applying to transfer to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities for the upcoming Fall 2016 semester.
My GPA in high school was sub-par (2.7) and my ACT was a 27.
First semester of college I managed to get a 3.6 GPA.
Plan on doing well second semester as well.
I have a rather large amount of extracurriculars from both HS and College:
-Avid volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
-Floor President of my dorm.
-President’s Council for my dorm.
-Note-taker for Student Disabilities Center.
-Etc.
Are my chances at transferring doomed from my high school GPA? I feel I did not perform to the best of my ability due to a rather turbulent family life during my junior and senior year.
