Started a thread in the transfer section, but I figured it would help a lot more if I posted here.

I was originally planning on applying through the tag program for UCSD, but they've recently raised there minimum gpa to 3.5.

Anyway, I have a 3.1, and nothing else, perhaps working on a fantastic essay, but that's it, not going to lie. My question is, do I even have a decent shot at getting in with a 3.1?

I have no idea where my gpa will land me, just hoping I can still transfer somewhere.

I don’t know a whole lot about the transfer program, but I know plenty about freshman admissions. Compared to many of the other freshman who have applied, your GPA isn’t going to earn you any points. If I were you, I would apply anyways though, even if it is a reach. If you think USD is a good fit, go for it! I know they’re big into community service, and you should definitely try to wow them with your essays.

Don’t know if a rising progression matters, but I’m raising my gpa because of my boneheaded past, so I have some d’s and c’s that are around from 2001/2002.
