I’m a freshman at in my first semester at a Massachusetts community college. I hoping to transfer in next, so i’ll have roughly 18-21 credits completed. 3 by AP. I’m assuming I’ll have a gpa around 3.7. my high school gpa was not good, and I got a 1620 on the SAT (610 in reading and 470 in math). I’m a vp of a club and a member of another. Do I have a chance?
They will look at your high school stats and test scores if you transfer now. Massachusetts community colleges are not known for academic rigor. Where do you want to transfer?
@toomsrofboston umass amherst, apparently according to https://www.umass.edu/oir/sites/default/files/publications/factsheets/select_undergrad_stats/FS_sel_01.pdf
they have a 60% transfer rate
Do i even have a realistic shot?
It would be better if you wait to transfer in as a junior. Again with only one semester of cc grades they will look at your high school stats that are not very good.
so I don’t have one?
feel free to be blunt
