I wanted to apply as a transfer student for Fall 2012. I am currently a Freshman at U of M Dearborn. In high school I got a 3.9 GPA, I took 2 AP classes, I was in 3 different clubs, in which I volunteered a little. I applied as a senior but was wait listed. I am a very hard worker and I know that in college I will get a high GPA of probably 3.9. I was really confused as to whether or not I should get involved at school in order to have better chances. With this criteria what do you guys think? I would be applying as a sophomore transfer. Thanks SO MUCH!

Also I emailed the adviser whom looked at my application and asked him why I didn't get in, he told me it was due to the fact that I went to a big high school in which a lot of great people applied and they could only choose a few. He told me that extra curricular were not that important and to focus on my grades, and he said I'd have a good chance. This just doesn't seem right to me to be honest.
