Chances of Transferring to UT from ACC?

Hi,

I'm currently a college freshmen attending Austin Community College but I want to transfer to UT in the fall. I want to transfer to McCombs but Liberal Arts is my second choice. I'm wondering if anyone had an idea about my chances of getting in?

My current GPA is a 3.813 and Ive completed 16 hours of credit so far. By the end of the spring semester I will have 32 hours of credit. I plan on joining Pi Theta Kappa in the spring as well as volunteering at the local hospital. I did not work my fall semester but I plan on doing so in the spring.

Also my mother has terminal dementia and has to live in an assisted living facility. Should I include this in my app or should I leave it out? Ive heard that some schools want to hear this but I dont want to sound like I want charity.

If anyone has an idea of my chances I'd love to hear your feedback.

Thanks,

As long as you continue to have a good GPA and take all the required classes for McCombs then I’d say you have a good shot.

I got into McCombs this fall with a similar GPA, but had almost an associates degree. Get all of your business indicators for the best chance.

I didn’t discuss any life shortcomings even though I had many, but I don’t necessarily recommend that. Just like you said, I didn’t discuss it because I didn’t want the pity party. It’s up to you.

Good Luck
