Chances of transferring

Hey. Hope I've thrown it at the right place, if not, please forgive me. I am currently a sophomore from a top 20 liberal arts school. I am considering to apply to transfer to Amherst, Duke, Brown, Washington University in St. Louis, Dartmouth and U Chicago.

GPA 3.99 College
SAT Critical reading 550, Maths 800, Writing 650 SAT II Math 1 760 Physics 760
80-90 hours volunteer
doing special studies(research) with professor

Thanks a ton!

Is that 3.9 from HS or college?
How the heck did you get in to a top 20 with a 550 Reading score?

3.99 from college. I am international which is why I had such a horrible reading score.

What college are you currently attending?
What do you not like about the school?

sorry that I don’t quite feel comfortable letting people know which school I go to. I just don’t quite like the atmosphere here and I am looking for either a better school or a school that gives me money.

could anybody help me out? or could anybody give me some suggestions on safety schools?

Brown is both need-aware for transfer admissions and has limited FA for transfers:

To find safety schools (or at least matches), look for schools that rank between your current one and the schools you’ve listed, then go to the CB College Search function and find schools with relatively high transfer rates.

I would add Northwestern to the list.

Thank you very much for your suggestion!

thanks. but why do you think northwestern would be a good choice?

i think slipper meant to not apply to northwestern because it has very limited funds for transfers

I see. yeah, that’s right. thanks!

No, sorry! Northwestern is pretty open to transfers. Its less selective than some of the schools for transfers on your list so its worth a shot.

lol and it gives terrible aid, so unless u can pretty much fully finance ur education then sure go for it, which has about a 20 percent acceptance rate

3.99, but what college classes have you been taking? That matters. A LOT

mostly science courses.I mean real science courses. a year of calculus, linear algebra, three semester of bio classes, chem things like that. do you think that will kill my chances?
