I am applying for transfer to UCs right now, and after searching around on this website I am feeling quite discouraged.
I am applying to UCB as a Media Studies major, UCLA Communications, and UCSB Communications.
I have a cum. 3.66 GPA..possibly 3.7 after Fall semester, I am confident in my personal essays (I have a unique story), my EC's are mediocre, I will be certified Honors at my CC, and after Spring semester I will be missing 1 or 2 of my pre-reqs...
I did not realize how competitive the UCLA Communications major is! Do I even have a chance with my GPA?

3.66 is pretty good. I say you have good chances.

But missing pre-reqs is not good at all. Sorry. That might bump you out of the running completely. You should contact the school directly and ask.

And yes, a few of the majors, esp at UCLA are wicked tough to get into. Comm is one of them. Have a back up major and apply to multiple schools.

Back up major? How do I go about doing that? (I’m in the same situation… I have a feeling I won’t be able to get into UCBs Haas Business School.)

yeah I ended up working it out in my Spring schedule so that I will have all of my Pre-reqs done, so hopefully that will help but I am lacking in community service/e.c. I was told that they don’t matter as much in a transfer student, is this true?
