High school senior now. Gotta start applying and im freaking out about this place. Cause this would be awesome to go to. I have others in mind like: UC Davis, Pitzer, Washington U in St. Louis, Brandeis, Boston U, UC Santa Cruz (safety) My school has barely any APs or Honors too. Due to cuts :/ Like i tried taking ap chem but they didnt offer it :(
We also switched to a trimester schedule junior year so that really tripped me up because it was a very weird schedule and everything became super fast paced. here's an explanation on what it is. Trimesters And no. its not easier. Screwed me over in spanish

Now that i look at everything, it doesn't even look like i can get into UCSC lol. O well. Tell me your opinions.

P.S. Want to major in neuroscience. (wanna be a neurologist) Cali resident too :D

For a reasonable shot this year you’ll want a bit more than last year’s average GPA and SAT at each as they will probably take fewer students this year and more students are avoiding private colleges:

hmom is correct that it is getting more competitive at UCSD every year. So 7500 is probably low ball estimate. But at least you can see the weight they give to things. And remember they only count UC GPA. So I’d get that SAT up to get in here.

^^^Find your UC GPA in a-g classes, it looks like around 3.7 (this is only an estimate, your’s may be higher or lower by a little). Multiply by 1000 = 3700. Add up all your SATs = 1770+710+720 = 3200. Add these together you have 6900. UCSD cutoff is probably between 7500 and 7900, so you need to make up these points either by raising SAT scores or on other things like ECs. I think it is pretty hard to make up 1000 points on ECs.

its 3.792 so it would be 3792. then itd be 3200 which is the cap. 6992 so far lol. Does it look like i took a-g courses beyond the minimum? plus, some personal challenges like a seperated family and sick family member? and low family income which is around $40,000? and volunteering at the hacienda care center, i dunno how much but +50 hours for sure. And the I went to the NYLF on medicine. so plus all that stuff, i dunno how many points i have but maybe close to the minimum?
