Any opinions on the chances of someone with these stats: 3.3 gpa, 1300 SAT, 5 AP's?

10-15 percent

GSP is always a possibility...your SATs are perfect for it, but the GPA may be on the low side for it. But, if your recs and ECs are phenomenal, that helps too. Good luck!

i have a 3.3 gps, 1220 SAT, and 3 AP's and got into GSP (originally CAS). But I have good ecs such as yearbook editor and dancing for 14 years. I also had nice recs.

gsp is predominately made up from ED i believe, thus my low estimate

I got into it RD when I applied...not sure about others though. Where did you hear that?

You can't put a percent on the chances but you can say that the gpa will be lower than the average. The SAT is not bad but not great also. Is the applicant an underrepresented minority, athlete, or have great recs, or anything else that can make up for slightly below average (for NYU) stats?
