jenkster, just curious - did you find some info on the financial need required for the Elks scholarship? I'm wondering the same thing, since my parents don't make like < 60k a year, but the fin. aid estimate UChicago gave me is just laughable, but if the Elks calculate it a certain way, I'd like to know. Thanks :)

highhope, here is information about the $8000 scholarship.

Welcome to the Missouri Department of Higher Education Website (MDHE)

UNEPgirl, they actually have a point system too, but it's more holistic than Coca-Cola. In the rubric I found on FAQ, financial need is 195 points out of 1000. So, it's substantial, but not to the point where <60,000 is a must to win some money.

Thanks! :)

vtoodler,
Thanks a lot for the website. But I was just scrolling down and saw they need ACT 31 OR SAT 780V/790M. ACT 31 is not equivalent to 780/790 SAT. Why is their a difference in requirement between SAT and ACT scores?

I was not able to find any decent local scholarships. I found hundreds, however, for students from high schools I didn't go to, cities I didn't grow up in, and counties I don't live in. Also for career goals I'm not interested in and ethnic/cultural groups I'm not a part of.

Yay Oregon!

Don't give up hope. Many local scholarships aren't even out yet. Most of them in my area (OK) don't even start until March.

may i ask what local scholarships are even in oklahoma?
