OSU is one of my reach schools...I submitted the online portion 12/10, went into evaluation on 12/20 and is still under eval. It is basically the only school I want to go to although I do have safeties. What do you think my chances are?

White male/out of state

1600 SAT

2.9 GPA (frosh year I had 2.0 and 1.3, then I moved an hour away and got a 3.8 and 3.6 soph year, 3.5 and 3.0 junior year with a 3 on the AP Hist Exam.. took honors english and honors trig)

Im currently taking honors Econ/Gov,AP Bio, 3rd year of French,Adv English Lit, and Pre-cal

Decent amount of ecs

I go to one of the best schools in the country, top 5% academically in test scores last year.

Rank top 50%, seriously weighed down by my frosh year perf.

Im worried that my frosh year perf is considerably taking down my stats, yet some people have told me it is OK since schools will look at my gradual perf and focus on soph-junior year. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance.

You might have a tough time since you're out of state and because of your frosh GPA...but I'm sure they'll take into account that your GPA's improved a lot since then, and that could really help you. OSU mainly looks at GPA's and test scores, so keep that in mind.

Well, like I mentioned before, I have already submitted my app so I cannot retake the SATs or change anything...all I can do now is keep my fingers crossed I guess =x

Keep in mind that if it is really your first choice school,
you can always ask to appeal a negative decision. In my experience, appeals tend to be more successful with public than private schools.

Just be sure to keep the upward trend in your grades, so that you can show
them requisite 'additional or new information' that will validate your
request.

I live in Ohio, actually 1 hour from Ohio State. I got accepted there about a month ago. OSU is a very, emphasising the very, large school. My school sends many kids there each year. The biggest thing OSU will look at is your SAT scores , course load, and GPA. Your SAT was a 1600 out of 1600 I hope and not out of 2400??

If I were to predict, I think you'd get in. To make sure, I would include as additional information that fact that you moved or whatever to account for your very low GPA because of freshman year. Otherwise, if it weren't for your low GPA, i think you'd be guaranteed.
