-Rank: 2/670
-Sophomore PSAT: 206/240

Classes: AP World Hist (3 on AP exam), AP Calc A/B (5 on AP exam) and B/C (4 on AP exam), 2 semesters of spanish, bio, chem, phys, two semesters of eng

-academic decathlon awards up to the texas state level

Then after 9th and 10th, I went to the Texas Academy of Math and Science (TAMS). This is a program where you complete your last two years of high school by doing university courses at the University of North Texas…and thereby getting college credit:

-GPA: 3.75/4.0 << WEAK! (got B’s in multivariable calculus, political science, 2nd semester chem, and Organic Chemistry)
—Hoping schools will realize these are all college courses (much more rigorous)
-no ranking at TAMS
-Junior PSAT: 219/240 → National Merit Semifinalist
-SAT (old): 1480 (690 verbal, 790 math)

-Received Rakesh Patel Scholarship for research excellence in Biological Sciences by the Dean of TAMS.
-National Finalist in Siemens Westinghouse Competition
-Of course applying for intel and all…

Expecting Strong Recs (one from Dean of TAMS, one from UNT Genetics Professor/Research Mentor, and one from Senior English teacher from old high school–my acdec coach).

Essays really show my passions and interests.

Like I said, gpa, sats, and sat2s are low…hoping my research and siemens will overshadow that…

Sorry it was so long…and Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it

Actually, I'd say you have a very good chance--especially if you focus on your strong points. Your commitment to ECs definitely overshadows what you consider a "weak" GPA (which is, in reality, probably not as weak-looking as you think).

thats good to know..anyone else?..

National Finalist in Siemens Westinghouse Competition

IN!

Just FYI, your rank/gpa from 9th and 10th grade don't matter. When you go to TAMS, your GPA resets. You don't need this website to see if you get in, Just look at the previous years of TAMS students. Every year you all get plenty of HYP acceptances.

yeah but colleges still see our old high school transcripts--wouldn't that be a factor at all?

bumpity bumpp

also, would it do any good to retake my sat2 bio and chem in jan? esp for the HPME program where they ask specifically for chem sat2s..

bump anyone?

pretty please?

no chance for a marauder...only saying that cause im currently at fmhs, should have a good chance anywhere with the college experience gained at tams
