I've been posting so many questions recently about careers and college majors... But I never asked for advice on life, my main problem.

I'm a junior mechanical engineer, and I don't know if it's for me any longer. Growing up, I wanted to do so many things, went through so many phases... Acting (parents couldn't afford auditions), Animal Science (used to breed parakeets, owned a variety of pets, studied animals on my own, favorite place was and still is The Museum of Natural History), criminal justice, and and any thing to do with cars (was not allowed to go to the garage). I wrote my college essay on film (Donnie Darko) and it won me into a great college, because it was my second to last and strongest passion, and other than drumming, it still is. I have always been in love with cinematography.

Now I'm a musician. I play the drums, and have been playing open miss all summer. I've been in a band for almost two years. We're moving slowly but once college is over, we plan on moving in together. I've been playing with multiple side projects at the same time to gain experience. If you want, I can post a link to an MP3 of mine...

My worry is whether not I will end up starving, sad, and full of regret if I switch out of engineering. I only want to pure a bachelor's degree for now, and I'm thinking of transferring to either biology/forensic biology. It is my junior year, and I just don't know if engineering is for me. It makes me depressed. And I hear it isn't as hands on as I thought it was... There is no room in my life for the arts, it's all MATH, what kills me the most (although I am capable of coin it if I have to...)

I just don't know what to do. I'm leaning towards Biology BA/BS, or Forensic Biology, but everywhere I go, everyone tells me to stick with engineering because a degree in anything else will leave me with a terrible job. True, or False? Also, what are your thoughts on my current situation. I understand that I can go back to school later, but I need something to support myself as I pursue a musical career after school... Thank you for your time.

PS My long term goal is to live an outstanding musical career, travel the world, and be happy.

My short term goal: Find a job to support myself.

I don't need a definite "DO THIS!" answer, but I need advice. Not expecting anyone to completely solve it, that's for me to do. Just looking for help.
