Chances on getting into NYU? PLEASE ANSWER

I really would like to go to NYU, but I don't know if i will get in because my SAT score is not very high. I am not a good standardized test taker and I'm just wondering if I have a chance of getting in.

SAT: Math: 660 CR:580 Writing:610 (Total Score: 1850)
I have one more chance to improve my score and I really would like to hit a 1950 or better, but I'm not sure if that will happen or not.

AP: US History: 5 CalcAB: 4 (I didn't take the AP World exam but I took the class)

Weighted GPA: 5.5 out of 6
Un-weighted GPA: 3.9 out of 4

I've been in all honors and AP classes for the past 3 years of high school, my only level 1 classes were electives and gym. I doubled up in math freshman year so that's why I am a year ahead of most students in my grade.

Senior Course Load: AP Calculus BC. AP Bio, AP Gov./Pol., AP Lang/ Comp, Computer Animation, Business and Consumer Law

Sorry this is so long I'm just really nervous and thanks in advance for reading this! :)

I would put you at a Low Reach/High Match only because of your SAT score. Your GPA and ECs are good. Have you taken the ACT? I did not score well on the SAT but then I switched to the ACT and scored alot higher comparatively with little studying.

Chance Back?

As it stands now, NYU is probably in between a low reach and a high match, but, depending on what college at NYU you apply into and how you do on your SATs, I think you have a good shot at it becoming a high match or just a match!

NYU is notorious for not giving financial aid. Can you afford this school?

@bartmta I was thinking about taking the ACT in September but I’m not sure if I’ll be ready in time/ if I should just focus on the SAT? I’ll have to look into it.

@audreywa I honestly feel my SAT score is going to hold me back from all of my top choices, I’m just really nervous I wont improve as much as I want (I may take a class this sep-oct for the November SAT).

I know NYU is crazy expensive, but I want to focus on getting into college first, then I’ll look into what works and what doesn’t. I’m pretty sure if I got in I would be able to go.

BTW Thanks for reading this, I really appreciate it :)
