Thanks!

have you taken any SAT 2s

Are you an asian male?

Woops, sorry. I’ve updated and added my SATIIs.

And yeah. Asian Male. So telling huh?

ALSO:
Northwestern, UChicago, UNC, Vandy, MIT, Brown.

Sorry forgot to put those.

From the Yale admission website: “Between two and three hundred students in any year are so strong academically that their admission is scarcely ever in doubt.”

i imagine that applies to other top schools too. if you don’t fit into that category i don’t know who does.

You are not out 100% at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and Stanford but the fact that I was able to guess your race and gender directly from your application does not bode well. Your numbers are good, but your extracurricular activities are undifferentiated, so chances there are fairly low. At WashU and Cornell however chances are good: perhaps 50/50 for Cornell and more then 50% for WashU.

well maybe you aren’t in that category, but i’d still say your chances are stronger than snipersas thinks

make sure your teachers have enough info to write personal and informed lors

Yeah. I was worried about that. But I mean, admittance to a lot of these schools is generally slightly above 5% for the pool, so I mean these “reaches” will really just be by luck.

But I am open to other suggestions of schools!

i’d check out some small liberal arts colleges like williams, pomona, vassar, wesleyan…

especially if you apply in the early round to places like that you’d have a pretty good hsot

Cornell will take you. Don’t worry. No guarantees on others, though.

I agree with Snipersas’s assessment

Addition: I’m working kinda independently on the project that I have at WUSM, and when I finish, I’ll be sending a paper to a journal (Bioconjugate chem most likely). It won’t be published by apps time (takes months for review), but hopefully it will have been submitted.

I got in touch with the professor at WashU through an RSI-like type of program in my area. So for that program, I’ve already written a preliminary 30-page paper. I dunno if that “puts me out there”. But thought I’d add that.

Northwestern – High Match
UChicago – Match
UNC – Low Match (since OOS)
Vandy – Low Match
MIT – Reach
Brown – Low Reach
Stanford – Reach
Harvard – Reach
Yale – Reach
Princeton – Reach
Cornell – Low Reach
Washington University in St. Louis – Match

Your profile looks very promising. Best of luck with everything.

You have a great chance for at least one of HYMPS, you’ll probably get into all the other schools you apply, given you essays are favorable.

I like your application. I expect you to get into UNC and Vandy for sure. You’ll probably get into at least three of Northwestern, Chicago, Brown, Cornell and WashU. And you have a very good shot at getting into at least one of HYPSM. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see you at HYPSM, but I could easily see you at a place like Brown or Cornell as well.
