Hey College Confidential & Americans,

I'm a student from Canada. I was wondering what my chances on a school like NYU Stern would be.

I've completed grade 12 and I have been accepted to all the top Canadian undergraduate business schools. Why the sudden urge to go to America? The money, the placements, and the easy American tail.

Up in Canada grade 12 marks are the only ones that matter.

Marks in grade 12,

Calculus -- 96%
Advanced Functions -- 96%
English -- 93%
International Business -- 92%
Business Leadership -- 97%
Resource Management -- 99%

Equates to a 95%+ average. This figure put me second in my graduating class, since I know Americans really love that graduating class statistic.

Couple that number with extracurricular activities that include,

Venture capital firm intern
Marketing research firm intern
Varsity high school hockey captain
NPO president
Various community involvement

This all being said, in America grades 9 - 11 actually matter (*). I did *ing terrible in grades 9 - 11. I had something like a 72% average.

I haven't taken the SATs but I am fairly confident I can get 2100+ on them.

I guess my questions are,

Can I get away with doing poorly in grades 9 - 11?

How do I stack up against other applicants, assuming I get 2100 on my SATs?

Are there any schools that don't give a **** about grade 9 - 11 marks that are top 25?

If anyone needs help with Canadian university applications I'll be more than willing to help.

Thanks Americans
